Streams & Electives
Hillsong Conference exists to champion the cause of local churches everywhere. In line with this mandate, Hillsong Conference is built around Stream & Electives designed to equip you with practical direction that can be applied as soon as you get back to your church.
We have three Streams; Empowering Leadership, Creative Worship & One For Another. Each of these Streams is broken down into Electives, to give delegates 'take home' value.
Every morning there will be a Main Rally in the main auditorium, often focusing on the Christian's heart & character.
This is then followed by a Combined Streams meeting, where the speakers will touch on aspects of each Stream to give delegates a 'big picture' view of kingdom ministry.
Then in the afternoon, Hillsong Conference delegates break into their chosen electives where the specifics of their ministry & calling are engaged with.
We would love you to help us build community in the streams by contributing to the online community conversations in your Elective area.
Here’s what some of our elective hosts are saying about Hillsong Conference 2010…
“Thank God for Senior Pastors! Much thought, prayer and preparation is already being made to ensure next year’s Senior Pastors School is of tremendous value to you and your church.”
- Joel A’Bell, Senior Pastors School
“My passion is to train as many people as possible to preach as effectively as they can. My heart for next year is not simply to repeat but to add to what was taught.”
- Robert Fergusson, Preacher’s School
“There's no doubt that God is working to build great and enduring churches through ‘teams’ of leaders and we all desire to be part of that.”
- Grant Thomson, Team Pastors School
“After fantastic feedback from our first ever ‘Real Issues’ elective this year, we will be devoting more real-time to practical workshop-style sessions that upskill you & your team.”
- Donna Crouch, Real Issues & Real Solutions
“We have had such amazing feedback from this year’s conference, and all we can say is Glory to God, incredible days to be alive and serving Christ… And so we enter into planning for next year with Holy awe and great expectation for we DO know that when we draw near to Him, He draws near to us… And it is that place that anything can happen.”
- Darlene Zschech & Joel Houston, Creative Worship Stream
“Loved seeing the passionate men and women enrolled in ‘Church Life & Ministries’ equipped to build strong and enduring ministries. In 2010 we plan to bring innovative, fresh and road-tested ideas to help you build the varied ministries within your local church context.”
- Julia A’Bell, Church Life & Ministries
“We have a world in desperate need. The Church can no longer sit on the sidelines; we must actively step into the pain of our world and bring justice. This year we will have practitioners not only raising awareness but giving practicalities on how to address poverty, famine, human trafficking, lack of water, disease. This will not only be extremely informative but practically beneficial."
- Christine Caine, The Church and Global Social Issues (Chris also oversees Innovative Global Missions & Effective Evangelism Today)
“The church should be one of excellence. Everything about what we do says something about who we are and what we value. In 2010 we will continue to unpack some practical tools and fresh material in Event Management, Communications & Marketing.”
- Nat Pingel & Laura Toganivalu, 5 Star Church
“It was great to meet and talk to so many who have a heart and a passion to pioneer, plant, and build Christ’s church! Preparing and expanding the elective to be even more insightful and practical in 2010.”
- Matt Tickner, Church Planting School
“We had an incredible time at JAM this year, and have found over the years that for our own youth ministry, JAM has been exactly the injection of faith that young people need in the middle of the year!”
- Chrishan Jeyaratnam, Youth Ministry School / JAM Director
“What a privilege we have had at Kidsong World over the years to impact thousands of children in following Jesus Christ! Kidsong World is the place to be during the July 2010 school holidays!”
- David Wakerley, Children’s Ministry School / Kidsong World Director
“We're a media generation - and now, more than ever, the church needs to step up and lead the way in creative media expression. Film, web, stories, visual expression, technology... Come and inspire others and be challenged yourself - be part of our Media Family at Hillsong 2010.”
- Josh Bonett, TV & Media
